How to: Complete the identity verification process for TTU Information Technology

Verifying your identity before receiving assistance in accessing your eRaider account or an encrypted device is vital to the security and integrity of Texas Tech University technology systems and services. We appreciate your patience and thoroughness as you work through this process.

You will need to have a government-issued photo ID and a mobile device or computer with a camera to complete the process. If you do not have the required technology to complete the process, you can bring your ID to our Walk-up Services location at the Administrative Support Center during business hours and an agent will assist you.

The current accepted forms of ID are:

  • All countries
    • Government-issued passport
  • United States
    • State-issued driver's license
    • Federal ID
    • Identification Card (including passport card)
    • Military
    • Residence Document
    • Tribal Identification
    • Weapon License
  • Canada
    • Canadian provincial driver's license
    • Federal ID
    • Identification Card

  • Costa Rica
    • Driver's license

Instructions

To complete your identity verification:

  1. If you have a need for identify verification, a notification will be sent to you. In the notification you received, click on the link or button.

    TIP: For the best experience, open the link or scan the QR code from your mobile device. The desktop experience will also work, but not as smoothly as mobile.

  2. If prompted, allow the page access to use your camera.

  3. Choose Start to begin.

  4. Review and confirm you agree to Incode's terms and if you consent to collection of your data. Then, choose Continue.

  5. When you are ready to begin, choose Take selfie.

  6. Make sure your face is centered in the frame and follow any on screen instructions until the image is captured.

    NOTE: If the capture is not automatic within the first few seconds, you might be asked to capture it manually.

  7. Prepare the front of your ID, and then choose Let's scan.

  9. Some document types may require scanning the back of the document. If so, click Scan the back. If not, follow the on screen instructions.

  10. If scanning the back was required, flip your ID over and repeat the scan process on the back of your ID. Then, click Continue when it appears.

  11. You should next receive a screen indicating if your verification was completed. It is safe to close your browser window once you reach this screen.

Following identity verification, an agent will contact you with next steps, if necessary.
