Symptoms
One or more of the following may be true:
- When signing in to eRaider-authenticated services, you are repeatedly prompted for your password (the service will not accept your password).
- When signing in to eRaider-authenticated services, you receive a message that your account is disabled.
- When signing in to eRaider-authenticated services, you receive a message that your account is locked.
- You are unable to send or receive emails in TechMail. Email messages sent to you are returned as undeliverable.
Cause
Your eRaider account may have been disabled. eRaider accounts may be disabled for a number of reasons, including:
- Your affiliation with the university temporarily lapsed for expected reasons, such as a student who took a semester off. Another example is a staff member whose employment ended but they were hired again by the university in a different capacity.
- Your affiliation with the university never lapsed, but record keeping errors caused systems to believe you no longer had an affiliation. This can sometimes result in multiple accounts being created.
- The account was compromised or believed to have a high risk of compromise.
- The account was using services that interfere with approved security controls implemented to monitor Texas Tech University account behavior and was in violation of TTU IT Security Policies.
- The account belongs to a research partner or business partner and needs re-verified.
- You have a General Public account and did not change the password regularly.
Resolution
It's a good idea to verify that an account is disabled rather than assuming. Any eRaider account holder can check to see if another account is disabled.
Once you confirm that your account is disabled, there are different resolutions depending on your scenario. Please click a link in the "Symptoms" or "Cause" fields above to learn more about what to do for your particular situation.

Outcome
If your account was able to be enabled, you are able to use your account. Otherwise, you will know the reason why it must remain disabled.
