Introduction
From the network administrator side, the device appears to be connected, but it never obtains a DHCP lease (IP address), causing the device to not be able to access network resources.
Instructions
1) Make sure that the device's DHCP settings are set to "automatic", "DHCP", or similar.
2) If the device was already configured to use DHCP (that is, obtain an IP address automatically), try setting the device to "static", "manual IP address", or similar. Type any IP address temporarily, such as 10.1.2.3. (Use any valid IP address, as it won't work anyway.) Then, try to connect again. It should say it cannot connect or it is connected without Internet. Disconnect if "connected". Go back into the settings and turn the IP settings back to automatic or DHCP. Try connecting again.
Outcome
The device is connected to the network and able to access resources as expected.
