Unable to sign in to domain-authenticated profile on a Mac after an eRaider password change

Symptoms

The following is true:

  • Your Mac is joined to the ttu.edu Active Directory domain.
  • Your Mac is encrypted using FileVault (whether enforced by Jamf or not).
  • You changed your eRaider password, and now your Mac will not accept the new password when signing in to boot up the computer.
  • Your Mac accepts your previous eRaider password but not the current password.

Cause

The password stored in FileVault is not up to date with your most recent eRaider password change.

Resolution

No one at Texas Tech University or from anywhere else should ask for your password.

Remove and re-add your domain-authenticated profile from FIleVault on your Mac to sync the passwords.

OUTCOME

You can sign in to your Mac successfully.
