Error: "Alias already used" when attempting to change your TechMail address


Symptoms

When attempting to choose a new TechMail address, you receive the following message:

Cause

The alias (the portion before the @ symbol) has been used in the past by another Texas Tech user. As of August 14, 2019, email aliases cannot be reused within the eRaider system.

Resolution

Choose a different email address for your TechMail account.


OUTCOME

You will be able to successfully set a new TechMail address.
