Error: "Another device on the network is using your computer's IP address" on your Mac


You receive the following message on your Mac, where IP_ADDRESS is the IP address of your Mac:

Another device on the network is using your computer's IP address (IP_ADDRESS).

Try connecting again later. If you continue to have problems, change the IP address of this computer or the IP address of the other device. Contact the network administrator if you need more information.

Renew the DHCP lease.

Once the IP address conflict is sorted out, you will no longer receive the error message.
