Symptoms
You receive the following message when attempting to sign in to Skype:
Please type your email address in the format someone@example.com.
Cause
When attempting to sign in to Skype using a Microsoft account, you must type your username in the form of an email address.

Use the full email address for your Microsoft account as the username. If you have questions about your Microsoft account, please contact Microsoft.
If you are attempting to sign in to TTU Unified Communications, you must use the Skype for Business software rather than the consumer version of Skype.
OUTCOME
You will be able to sign in to Skype.
