Symptoms
The plug in the wall where you connect your Ethernet cable is sometimes called an outlet, plug, drop, or port. Occasionally, a port will have sustained obvious physical damage and need repairs.

Contact IT Help Central with the following information:
- Location (building and room number)
- Last known hardware address which connected to the port, if available
- Outlet ID (EXAMPLE: In the photo below, the cable is plugged in to Outlet 107-a1. Observe that the "107-a" comes from the label and the "1" comes from the numeral next to the port.)
Outcome
The appropriate personnel will contact you and your network outlet will be repaired.
