eRaider account disabled due to being compromised or high risk of compromise

Symptoms

You are unable to access your eRaider account even after resetting your eRaider password.

Cause

Your account could have been disabled due to your credentials being obtained by a third party. For instance, clicking on a link in a suspicious email and providing your eRaider credentials on sites through that link can cause your account to be compromised.

Compromised accounts are used by malicious individuals to send spam or perform other unwanted activities. Such accounts may be proactively disabled to stop the activity and prevent disruptions for other network users.

Resolution

No one at Texas Tech University or from anywhere else should ask for your password.

If you feel that your account has been compromised, please contact IT Help Central immediately, preferably by phone. IT Help Central can assist you with scanning each of your computing devices for malware, getting your account enabled again, and then checking various aspects of your account for malicious tampering.

OUTCOME

You are able to access your eRaider account successfully.
