Explanation
TechBuy allows you to shop via hosted catalogs and punch-out vendors (i.e., Staples, Fisher, etc.) and allows for one shopping cart to create a requisition and break out to multiple purchase orders. The hosted catalogs provides online comparison shopping. Forms or non-catalog orders are used for purchases not available via hosted catalogs and punch-out vendors.
TechBuy has two primary functions:
- Electronic shopping mall; "punch-outs" take you to a vendor site and when you're ready to purchase, it comes back to TechBuy automatically and creates the requisition for you automatically
- Creating a requisition
The TechBuy system went live in the summer of 2008. As of September 1, 2008, it fully replaced the previous ePO and eRQ systems.
