SciFinder is the most comprehensive bibliographic database in the field of chemistry. While the database is essentially an online version of the Chemical Abstracts print index, it is superior to the print index in that it provides online searching and enhanced search capabilities (e.g., chemical structure and reaction searching). The database contains over 23 million citations from 9,000 journals and covers the literature from 1907 to the present. While the focus of the database is chemistry, it is also a valuable resource for certain areas of agriculture, biology, engineering, geology, medicine, and physics.
