MATLAB availability, licensing, and support info for TTU students, faculty, and staff

Explanation

The TTU Office of the CIO has negotiated an agreement with MathWorks for a Texas Tech University (TTU) MATLAB site license. The software download information is available at https://eraider.ttu.edu.

Effective September 1, 2011, this license includes the most recent version of the MATLAB software and the top 50 toolboxes for specialized analysis/modeling, based on our recent campus usage. Some highly specialized MATLAB modules were not in use at TTU at the time the license was negotiated and are not included in this site license agreement.

TTUS/TTU departments, faculty, staff, and students no longer need to purchase MATLAB licenses unless the purchase is for a MATLAB specialized module not covered by the TTU site license. Note that the agreement includes work-at-home rights, as well as student usage.

The license will expire each year at the end of August, with a thirty day grace period through the end of September. The TTU IT Division will renew the license so that no action will be required on your part. If you receive a prompt about the license expiring, you may ignore it.

MATLAB customers who are running or wish to run MATLAB in computer labs will use the Network Concurrent License under TTU's agreement with MathWorks.

Faculty, staff, and students can contact MathWorks directly for product support by visiting https://www.mathworks.com/support or calling 508-647-7000.
