Your TechID is your unique identifying number at Texas Tech University. The TechID system was created to replace the use of Social Security numbers as the primary unique identifier for students, faculty, and staff members. To reduce confusion with Social Security numbers, all TechIDs begin with the letter "R". TechIDs consist of the letter R followed by an 8-digit number.
