Availability of eRaider, TechMail, Microsoft 365, and other services after leaving Texas Tech

Introduction

Your eRaider account and associated services remain active for a determined amount of time depending upon your role with Texas Tech University.

Explanation

Overview

Eligibility to IT services, such as site licensed software, Microsoft 365, and OneDrive for Business, will end when your active role at the university ends. When you begin planning your transition away from TTU, you should start migrating personal usage of email, file storage, software licenses, and other IT services as soon as possible so that you are not using State of Texas IT resources. If you establish a different affiliation with the university, such as enrolling in classes or resuming employment, you will regain access to TTU IT services dependent upon your role.

Graduate and undergraduate students (admitted but never enrolled in classes)

Your account will be disabled after 180 days and deleted after 365 days. The countdown begins on the second day of the term for which you were accepted. For example, if you were admitted for the fall semester and classes began on August 27, your affiliation ends on August 28 because you are not enrolled in courses. 180 days after that, your account would be disabled. 365 days after August 28 (in this example), your account would be deleted.

During the time that your account is counting down to be disabled, your MyTech (Banner Student) access will remain intact. Your MyTech access will be removed on the day that your eRaider account is disabled.

Graduate and undergraduate students

Your account will be disabled 450 days after you are no longer enrolled in courses and deleted 480 days after you are no longer enrolled in courses.

During the time that your account is counting down to be disabled, your MyTech (Banner Student) access will remain intact. Your MyTech access will be removed on the day that your eRaider account is disabled.

Faculty

Your account will be disabled 120 days after you are no longer affiliated with TTU and deleted after 365 days, except when you retire.

Staff, non-salaried employees, and temporary employees

Your account will be disabled after 3 days and deleted after 180 days, except when you retire.

Disabled eRaider account

When your account enters the disabled state, you will be unable to sign in to any eRaider-based systems, such as TechMail, Raiderlink, OneDrive for Business, or Blackboard.

Your MyWeb website will not be deleted, but you will be unable to update its contents because your eRaider account is disabled.

Your TechMail address will be unable to send or receive email. Email messages sent to your account will be returned as undeliverable. You will not be able to access your TechMail account to view existing messages because your eRaider account is disabled.

Deleted eRaider account

When an account reaches the point of deletion, all of your account information and files are permanently removed from Texas Tech systems. However, your records in Banner, such as student transcripts, employment records, etc., are left intact.

IMPORTANT: Your TechMail mailbox, OneDrive for Business contents, and other items cannot be recovered after your account has been deleted.
