1) You must first install an optional component in BDM called "KeyView" that will allow you to view Microsoft Office documents within your web browser, even if you do not have Microsoft Office installed on a particular system.

NOTE: If you do not have this component installed, you can still view these files in their native application (Word docs in Word, spreadsheets in Excel, etc.).

2) While signed in to BDM, click Edit. Then, click User Settings.

3) Click the Interactive Viewer tab, and check the boxes next to "Enable Interactive Viewer" and "Use KeyView to Display Foreign Files". Then click Save.

OUTCOME

You will be able to view documents using KeyView in Banner Document Management without using Microsoft Office.
