Instructions
For instructions, please choose the type of transfer you intend to perform.
Conference transfer
1) Place the first call on hold.
2) Contact the person to which you wish to transfer the first call. (You may do this by placing a new voice call or beginning an IM conversation with them.
3) If the recipient agrees to take the transfer call, place the recipient on hold.
4) Take the initial caller off hold and inform them you are ready to merge the call.
5) Merge the calls.
OUTCOME
Your calls will automatically be merged into a single conference call. You may disconnect yourself from the call anytime you wish, and the call between the other parties will continue.
Announced transfer
1) Place the first call on hold.
2) Place a new call or begin an IM conversation with the party to which you wish to transfer the first call.
3) If the recipient agrees to take the transfer, place the recipient on hold.
4) Take the initial caller off hold and inform them you are ready to transfer the call.
5) In the active call window, click Transfer.
TIP: If you do not see the Transfer button or the controls above, try clicking the Call Controls button first.
6) Click the recipient to which you wish to transfer the call. Then, click Transfer.
OUTCOME
The calls will be joined, and you will be disconnected from both calls.
Quick or blind transfer (unannounced)
You can transfer a Skype for Business call to another person or number. For example, if you need someone else to handle the call, you can transfer to them. Or if you need to leave your office, but want to continue your conversation, you can transfer the call to your cell phone.
1) Inside the window for your current call, click Transfer.
TIP: If you do not see the Transfer button or the controls above, try clicking the Call Controls button first.
2) Pick where you would like to send the call, and then click Transfer. Your options are:
One of your existing numbers
Type any phone number you like
Search for someone in the directory
OUTCOME
You will be disconnected from the call, and the party with whom you were speaking will be transferred to the destination you selected.
TIP: For a more professional transfer, communicate to the other party that you will be transferring the call. Then, place the call on hold and proceed with the transfer steps.
