How to: Sign a document in Adobe Acrobat using a digital certificate


Instructions

1) Click More Tools.

2) Click Certificates.

3) Click Digitally Sign.

4) Click OK.

5) Click and drag to highlight the area where you would like to place your signature.

6) If you already have a digital ID, choose it and click Continue. Then, skip to StepĀ 12.

TIP: All TTUS and TTU faculty and staff already have a digital certificate for signing documents. If you do not see it, you may need to set it up.

If you don't already have a digital ID, click Configure New Digital ID.

7) Click Create a new Digital ID to select it. Then, click Continue.

8) Choose how you would like to save your digital ID. Then, click Continue.

9) Enter the required information. Then, click Continue.

10) Type a password to protect your digital ID. Then, click Save.

11) Click on the digital ID with which you would like to sign the document. Then, click Continue.

12) Type the password for your digital ID. Then, click Sign.

13) Name your file and click Save.

OUTCOME

You have signed the document using a digital certificate.
