How to: Restore the backup of a file that was overwritten on a file server


If a file is overwritten on a server managed by the TTU IT Division or the TTUS IT Division (such as TechShare) and you would like it restored, please follow the steps below.

1) Contact IT Help Central with the details of the request:

  • File name
  • Network share path (location)
  • File type (extension)
  • Estimated time/date deleted
  • Any other relevant information

2) IT Help Central will assign an issue in your name to the system administrators of the server.


The administrator of the server will inform IT Help Central of the status of the request. IT Help Central will then contact you with further details.
