How to: Prevent the public release of your personal information as a student at Texas Tech University


Instructions

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) allows students to limit and control the public release of personal information. To opt out of releasing any directory information (name, address, etc.) to vendors or others who may request it:

1) Sign in to Raiderlink.

2) In the top right-hand corner, click My Personal Information.

3) Click the Directory Profile link.

4) Uncheck the box next to your name, and then click Submit Changes.

OUTCOME

Texas Tech will not release any of your directory information to anyone.

NOTE: Restricting release of directory information also restricts release of award and degree information to your hometown newspaper.

NOTE: Only employees are listed in the Directory, so this checkbox does not affect that application.
