How to: Manage the pop-up blocker settings in Google Chrome


Introduction

Open the Chrome menu and navigate to Settings > Show advanced settings > Content settings. Then, choose your preferred pop-up blocker settings.

Instructions

1) In the upper right-hand corner of the Chrome window, click the menu icon (vertical ellipsis).

2) Click Settings.

3) Click Advanced and choose Privacy and Security.

4) Click Site Settings.

5) Click Pop-ups and redirects.

To prevent websites from displaying pop-ups, toggle the slider to the grayed out "off" position, so "Blocked (recommended)" is displayed.

To allow websites to display pop-ups, toggle the slider to the blue "on" position, so "Allowed" is displayed.

6) You can choose to always prevent or allow specific websites to create pop-ups, regardless of your main Popups setting, by clicking the Add button next to the "Block" or "Allow" lists, respectively.

6a) Type in the address of the website that you would like to always block or allow, and then click Add.

6b) Once you have added a website to the "Block" or "Allow" list, you may click the menu icon to open its status menu.

6c) In the status menu, click Remove to remove the website from the exceptions list. Click Edit to change the address of the website. Click Block or Add to move the website to the opposite list.
