How to: Insert a picture in an Outlook message without losing image quality

Instructions

Outlook automatically scales all embedded images on outgoing messages to a resolution of 96 dpi. To ensure that your embedded image does not lose quality, use one of the options below.

Option 1

Prior to inserting the image into your message, use an image editing program, such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, to change the image's resolution to 96 dpi.

Option 2

1) Insert the picture into your outgoing message as normal.

2) Click once on the picture to select it, if it's not already selected.

3) Under the "Picture Format" tab on the toolbar, click the Compress Pictures button.

4) Ensure that Use default resolution is marked, and click OK.
