Instructions
1) Open the TextEdit app and start a new document.
2) In your Mac's menu bar, click Format. Then, choose Make Plain Text.
3) In Finder, navigate to the directory (folder) that contains the files for which you wish to make a list. Select all of the files by highlighting them or by pressing command+A. Then, copy the files by pressing command+C.
4) Go back to TextEdit and paste the files by pressing command+V.
Outcome
You have successfully made a list of files.
TIP: You can get a list of files, including the full path, by dragging-and-dropping the files from Finder into the TextEdit window.
