How to: Find the hardware address for a network adapter on your Mac


Introduction

To determine the hardware address of a network adapter on your Mac, please follow the directions below.

Instructions

  1. Open System Settings.

  2. In the left-hand side pane, click Network. Then, choose your desired network connection. (For instance, if you wish to locate the hardware address for your wired network adapter, you might click Ethernet.)

  3. On the right-hand side of the network you chose, click Details.

  4. Click the Hardware tab.

Outcome

The hardware address is located next to the "MAC Address" label.
