How to: Encrypt a Mac using FileVault through Jamf

CAUTION: You must establish an ongoing backup plan for your computer and data. In the unlikely event that a problem occurs during the encryption process or drive failure, a backup will be the only mechanism to restore encrypted data. In addition, we strongly recommend storing critical or important files in a separate location from your hard drive.

ITĀ Help Central will work with each department's primary support provider or network site coordinator to manage encryption using Jamf.

If your Mac was not already encrypted using FileVault, Jamf will enable and manage the encryption. If your Mac was already encrypted with FileVault, Jamf will manage the encryption going forward.

Your Mac will be encrypted and managed through Jamf.
