Introduction
In your Mac's menu bar, click the OneDrive icon and choose Help & Settings. Click Preferences. Under the Preferences tab, click Turn On Files On-Demand.

NOTE: All OneDrive accounts added to your Mac automatically have Files On-Demand enabled. However, some older accounts may need to follow the steps below to manually enable this feature.
1) Open the OneDrive app if it is not already running. One way to do this is by going to Launchpad and clicking OneDrive.
2) In your Mac's menu bar, click the OneDrive icon and choose Help & Settings.
3) Click Preferences.
4) Under the Preferences tab, click Turn On Files On-Demand.
