Introduction
In the Settings app, tap Mail > Accounts > your TechMail account > Automatic Reply. Then, turn on the "Automatic Reply" option, type your away message, and tap Save.
Instructions
1) Open the Settings application.
2) Tap Mail.
3) Tap Accounts.
4) Tap your TechMail account.
5) Tap Automatic Reply.
6) Next to "Automatic Reply", slide the switch to the "on" position (to the right). Tap the "AWAY MESSAGE" field and type the automatic reply message that you wish to send when email is sent to you.
The text in the "AWAY MESSAGE" field will be automatically sent to individuals affiliated with Texas Tech University the first time that they email you after you save your settings.
7) Optionally, tap the switch next to "External Away Message" to enable it. The "External Away Message" will be the automatic reply sent to those from outside of the university.
Tap the "EXTERNAL AWAY MESSAGE" field, and type the automatic reply message that you wish to send to people outside of TTU.
8) If you enable external replies, you may wish to change whether they go to everyone outside TTU or just individuals outside TTU who are saved in your Contacts folder. If so, tap Respond to Mail from to configure it. Then, choose your preference.
9) Tap Save.
Outcome
You have set up an automatic reply for your TechMail account.
NOTE: Each sender will only receive the automatic reply once and not every time they email you. This is reset when you turn off Automatic Reply and then turn it on again.
