How to: Edit saved passwords stored with Credential Manager in Windows 11


Introduction

No one at Texas Tech University or from anywhere else should ask for your password.

Instructions

  1. In your Windows taskbar, click the Start button to access your Start menu.

  2. Search for "Credential Manager" in the Search bar. Then, click on it in the search results.

  3. Review items under both the Web Credentials and Windows Credentials tabs. Locate the resource for which you wish to update or delete the password. Once you have found it, click the disclosure arrow on the right side to expose more options.

  4. Either edit or remove the saved credential.
    Edit
    To edit the password, click Edit.

    Ensure that your username is correct. Then, type the new password and click Save.

    Remove
    To delete the saved password, click Remove.

    Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the saved credential.

Outcome

Your saved passwords in Windows 11 have been updated.
