How to: Download, install, and set up Skype for Business on Mac


Introduction

Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54108, download the software, and install it.

When signing in, use your TechMail address as the username and your eRaider password as the password.

Instructions

1) Browse to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54108 and click Download.

2) From your Downloads folder, open the installation package that you downloaded in the previous step.

3) Click Continue.

4) Read through the license agreement. Then, click Continue.

5) If you agree to the terms of the licensing agreement, click Agree.

6) Click Install.

7) If prompted for credentials, type a username and password with administrative permissions on your Mac. Then, click Install Software.

8) Please wait while the installation completes.

9) If you receive a prompt asking for permissions for Installer.app, click OK.

10) When the installation is complete, click Close.

11) If prompted about whether you want to keep the installation package, choose your preference.

12) Type your TechMail address, and then click Continue.

TIP: When signing into a functional account, you should use the function mailbox email address and password instead.

13) Type your eRaider password, and then click Sign In.

14) If prompted about emergency calling, click OK. Then, click OK again.

TIP: Sharing your location is very important for E-911 services.

15) Click Next four times to review the Skype for Business welcome screens. Click Finish on the final screen.

16) If prompted about camera access, choose your preference.

TIP: If you do not click OK, you will not be able to show video from your camera during video calls or online meetings.

17) If prompted about allowing Outlook to control Skype for Business, click OK. This allows interaction between the two apps for calendaring and online meetings.

Skype for Business on Mac has been installed and configured for use with TTU Unified Communications.
