How to: Delete stored items in Keychain Access on your Mac


No one at Texas Tech University or from anywhere else should ask for your password.

In Keychain Access, right-click (secondary click) the item that you wish to delete and choose the option to delete it. Then, click Delete to confirm.


1) Open the Keychain Access app. One way to do this is by going to Launchpad, going to the Other folder, and clicking Keychain Access.

2) The list of stored credentials will be shown. If Keychain Access is locked, click on the lock icon in the upper left-hand corner and use the appropriate credentials to unlock it.

3) Locate the item that you wish to delete. Then, right-click (secondary click) the item and choose the option to delete it.

4) Click Delete to confirm.

The stored item has been deleted from your keychain.
