How to: Connect to eduroam Wi-Fi using your Mac


Introduction

To connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network on your Mac, follow the steps below.

NOTE: These instructions are for visitors to the Texas Tech University campus from other educational institutions. If you are a TTU user trying to connect to eduroam at another institution, please contact that campus's IT department for instructions

Instructions

  1. In your Mac's menu bar, click the Wi-Fi icon. Next to "Wi-Fi", slide the switch to the "on" position (to the right).

  2. Choose EduRoam from the list of wireless networks.

  3. Type your home campus email address (for example, john.doe@youruniversity.edu) and the associated password. Then, press return or click OK.

    The username and password are filled out and ok is highlighted to be clicked

  4. If prompted about verifying a certificate, click Continue.

    NOTE: The name of the server in the message shown in the screenshot below will vary depending upon your home institution.

  5. If asked for credentials, type the username and password of an account with administrative privileges on your Mac. Then, click Update Settings.

Outcome

Your Mac is connected to the eduroam wireless network.
