How to: Connect to eduroam Wi-Fi using your iPhone

NOTE: The settings applied are specific to the Texas Tech University campus. If you are trying to connect to eduroam at another institution, you may have to contact the IT department of that institution for specific directions.

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Wi-Fi.

  3. Ensure that the Wi-Fi switch is in the "on" position (to the right). Then, tap EduRoam.

  4. Type your institutional email address into the "Username" field, and type your associated password into the "Password" field. Then, tap the blue checkmark button in the top right-hand corner.

  5. If prompted about trusting a certificate, tap Trust.

    NOTE: The name of the certificate will vary depending on your home institution.

Outcome

Your iPhone is connected to the eduroam wireless network. A check mark appears next to "EduRoam" in your Wi-Fi screen, and you see the Wi-Fi icon appear in the status bar at the top of your screen.
