How to: Change your eRaider password


Introduction

No one at Texas Tech University or from anywhere else should ask for your password.

NOTE: If you believe your account has been disabled, please see eRaider account disabled due to being compromised or high risk of compromise.

Instructions

Method A: Update your password using "Forgot Password"

1) If you do not know your current password, browse to https://eraider.ttu.edu and click the Forgot Password button.

2) Type your eRaider username and date of birth. Then, click Continue.

3) If your TechID or your Social Security number (SSN) are on file in the eRaider system, you will be prompted to enter one of them. Type either your TechID or SSN. Then, click Continue.

4) To verify your identity, the eRaider system will send a verification code to the contact phone number that you specified in your eRaider account. Choose Text Message to have a verification code sent in an SMS text message or Voice Call to receive the verification code in an automated voice call. Then, click Continue when you are ready for the code to be sent.

5) If you chose "Text Message" in the previous step, look for a new incoming text message with the following wording:

Use this code to change your password: CODE

If you chose "Voice Call" in the previous step, you will receive a phone call with the following wording:

Use this code to change your password: CODE

6) In the field labeled "Enter Code", type the code that you received. Then, click Verify.

7) Type your desired password into both fields. Then, click Set Password.

NOTE: The password must meet the eRaider password requirements.

IMPORTANT: You will not be presented with the password again, so you must remember the password you entered.

Outcome

Your eRaider password has been changed. It may take up to 15 minutes for the password to function on all eRaider-authenticated services. If your password was expired, it may take up to 2 hours to reestablish full access to Microsoft services.

Method B: Update your password using "Change Password"

B1) Browse to https://eraider.ttu.edu.

B2) Click Change Password.

B3) In the first field, type either your official email address (for example, jane.doe@ttu.edu) or ttu\your_eraider_username (for example, ttu\jdoe). In the second field, type your current eRaider password. Then, click Sign in.

B4) Choose which way you would like to receive your authentication code. Then, click Continue.

B5) If you chose "Text Message" in the previous step, look for a new incoming text message with the following wording:

Your eRaider verification code is: CODE

If you chose "Voice Call" in the previous step, you will receive a phone call with the following wording:

Your eRaider verification code is: CODE

B6) Once you receive the verification code at your phone number, type it into the verification field. Then, click Verify.

B7) Type your new password into both fields. Then, click Change Password.

NOTE: The password must meet the requirements in the eRaider password policies.

IMPORTANT: You will not be presented with the password again, so you must remember the password you entered.

Outcome

A screen will appear confirming that the password has been changed. It may take up to 15 minutes before your new password works on all services. If your password had expired, it may take up to two hours to reestablish full access to Microsoft services.

NOTE: If you are signed into a domain-authenticated device, you should restart or sign out and sign back in while connected to the TTU network. This will prevent bad password attempts and lockouts. This will also allow you to ensure that all eRaider-authenticated services are now using your new credentials.

Method C: Update your password through eRaider Account Manager

C1) Browse to https://eraider.ttu.edu.

C2) Click Manage Your Account.

C3) In the first field, type either your email address (for example, jane.doe@ttu.edu) or ttu\your_eraider_username (for example, ttu\jdoe).

In the second field, type your current eRaider password. Then, click Sign in.

C3) In the left-hand menu, under "Common Services", click eRaider Password.

C4) Under the "Change Password" column, choose a verification method and click Continue.

C5) If you chose "Text Message" in the previous step, look for a new incoming text message with the following wording:

Your eRaider verification code is: CODE

If you chose "Voice Call" in the previous step, you will receive a phone call with the following wording:

Your eRaider verification code is: CODE

C6) Once you receive the verification code at your phone number, type it into the "Code" field, and then click Verify.

C7) Type your new password. Then, click Set Password.
